Network Support Administrator - Johannesburg

A Network Support Administrator position is available in Johannesburg Northern Suburbs, Gauteng, South Africa.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Coordinate with all radiologists and perform troubleshooting on systems and administer everyday activities of the RIS and PACS system.
- Analyse user processes and ensure optimal utilization of same and provide end user support at all times.
- Monitor all system performance and ensure maintenance of all quality control programs.
- Provide training to new users for all relevant RIS and PACS systems.

**Including the following understandings**:

- PACS/HIS/RIS concepts and terminology
- Medical Imaging Workflow
- DICOM, HL7 and IHE Basics
- Hardware, Networking, Security, Printing, Database, Mobile Technology Basics
- Clinical Basics and Terminology
- Coding systems
- Basic Human Anatomy
- Positioning, Orientation used in digital imaging
- Modality imaging characteristics
- Image Quality and QA/QC

**Additional IT Requirements**:

- Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming.
- Monitoring and maintaining networks, printers, desktops and servers.
- Good server and networking knowledge.
- Perform troubleshooting on systems and resolve all hardware and network issues.
- Installing and Upgrading of networks, hardware and software.
- Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
- Creating user accounts and performing access control.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Good organization, time management and prioritization.
- Strong detailed analytical thinking, problem solving and results orientated skills.
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening.
- Great customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be pro-active individually and follow instructions.
- Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT administration.
- Understanding of IT Governance and POPI

**Certifications and Experience Preferred**:

- A+ (Hardware & Software)
- N+ (Networking)
- CCNA (Routing & Switching)
- Experience as a RIS and PACS Administrator
- 2 Years’ Experience in a Hospital Radiology Department or a Private Radiology Service performing all types of Diagnostic Work, in a role which encompasses working in various Radiology Systems (PACS, RIS, etc.)
- Previous experience and a basic understanding of operating systems software, desktop and server troubleshooting, networking support.
