Duties

The primary responsibility of the incumbent will be to
- Coordinate the implementation, on-going management, and evaluation of the MBBCh I & II curriculum, liaising with the Schools and Departments involved in these years of the degree.
- Review issues affecting teaching and learning in MBBCh I & II and act appropriately
- Chair or be deputy chair of the MBBCh I & II committee.
- Monitor student performance to identify those at risk of failure & refer ‘at risk’ students to University resources for student support as needed
- Coordination of relevant courses in the MBBCh I & II programme as well as develop, deliver and assess the relevant teaching for these courses, with other staff members.
- Liaise with staff of the School of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Centre for Health Sciences Education, e-Learning Services Unit and Centre for Learning and Teaching Development to develop a blended learning strategy for the MBBCh programme.
- Engage in additional teaching duties as agreed with Director of UUME
- Design appropriate research projects investigating curriculum development / teaching interventions & innovation in the MBBCh I & II and GEMP programmes

Job Requirements

**Qualifications**:

- MBBCh (or equivalent primary medical degree) or relevant Biomedical or Health Sciences degree
- Postgraduate qualification in Education, Biomedical Sciences or Medicine
- Teaching, tutoring or supervision experience in the basic medical sciences
- Teaching, tutoring or supervision experience in an integrated medical degree programme
- Experience of e-learning resource development in a medical degree programme
- Evidence of research ability and some publications.
