**Employee Management & Training**
- Recruitment and selection
- Monitor employee absences, and address and resolve patterns and abuse
- Counselling, disciplinary action, grievances, and conflict resolution
- Identify knowledge gaps and arrange training
- Guide the talent identification and development processes for a group or function
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring
- Orientation and training of new employees
- Plan the career development of individual members of staff
**Resources Management**
- Ensure all equipment and machines are maintained and serviced to specification
- Plan and order material in accordance with production requirements
- Ensure adequate stock levels
**Operating margins**
- Achieve a correct and on time delivery target of 95%
- Monitor and review manufacturing operations and processes to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Ensure all production processes are cost effective and efficient
**Development and Improvement of Processes and Procedures**
- Ensure that processes and procedures are developed and effectively implemented to help the Department meet its operational and strategic goals
- Identify gaps in processes and implementing improvement measures
- Ensure acceptable quality standards for all processes and procedures from all team members
**Production Management and Reporting**
- Feedback reports required on ad hoc, weekly, and monthly basis
**Project Schedules**
- Work across functions with peers in other departments to ensure collaboration for shared goals
- Engage and co-ordinate with other managers across the Company
- Interact with senior management for reporting
- Report back to senior management on productivity and other performance indicators
**Order Fulfillment**
- On-time completion, milestones, estimate to completion, identify and investigate, drop in performance, unusual patterns of activity, sluggish delivery & barriers, obstructions, and delays
**Delivery In Full On Time Rate**
- Adjustments to schedule
- Planned vs Actual
- Resource capacity
**Non-conformance and Incident Management**
- Identify of root cause
- Implement corrective and preventive measures
- Monitor and measure compliance of standards
**Health and Safety**
- Promote and maintain awareness and compliance of health and safety in accordance with Company policy
- Ensure the Company’s health and safety policies are adhered to at all times
**Quality Control**
Ensure that:
- ISO 3834 requirements are met, maintained and ISO certifications are upheld
- Production processes, equipment being used and working environments are all conducive to producing a high-quality product both safely and efficiently
- Production activities are monitored to ensure that appropriate manufacturing methods are employed
- Rectification and/or repair of non-conforming product as a priority, and that relevant Departments are informed of delays and revised schedules
- Finished goods are checked and found to be correct, complete, and compliant prior to handover to following Department
**Minimum requirements**
- **Matric or relevant tertiary qualification**:
- **SAIW or IIW Level 1 Welding Inspector Diploma or equivalent**:
- **Refrigeration experience would be beneficial**:
- **Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is essential (5 years)**:
- **Previous exposure to a production environment would be advantageous**:
- **Strong technical/operational background**:
