Financial Controller

**Role Summary**
The Financial Controller is responsible for the complete and accurate general ledger, assets register accounting and cash flow management. Runs and maintains the monthly payroll including the ad-hoc payroll processing during the month. Provides relevant departments with accurate and complete information for reporting and decision making purposes, supporting the accurate compilation of Financial reports.
**Responsibilities**
**Main Outcome 1: General Ledger (30%)**
- Reviews general ledger accounts for reasonability;
- Processing general ledger journals;
- Preparation of the monthly reconciliations;
- Preparation of the analysis of the income statement accounts;
- Reviews accuracy of reconciliations are done accurately and checks against supporting documentation and ledger balances;
- Creates management accounts from general ledger;
- Compiles departmental spending reports for support departments and highlights issues;
- Conducts inter-firm reconciliations.
- Processing clients receipts daily and send notification to partners & PA's
- Processing FNB account debit entries from vouchers to SAP via AP module.
**Main Outcome 3: Statutory and General Reporting (30%)**
- Generates PAYE reports and submits reports on SARS portal and makes payments;
- Generates workman's compensation reports and submits to Department of Labour and makes payments;
- Generates and reviews VAT reports from SAP and submits for approval, makes payments;
- Completes Statistics South Africa reports;
- Gathers data for Employment Equity and Skills Development reports;
- Submits monthly reports to provident fund provider;
- Working with the global R2R team for all accounting queries;
- Assisting finance manager with adhoc, weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
**Main Outcome 4: Cash Flow Management (10%)**
- Reviews cash position on a daily basis and where required transfers payments to Global Head Office;
- Forecasts cash requirements and ensures liquidity of funds.
**Main Outcome 6: Chrome River Invoice and Expense processing (10%)**
- Issuing and returns of employee credit cards;
- Performing Chrome River submission reviews;
- Submits credit card statements to card holders and requests supporting documentation;
- Reconciles supporting documentation to statements and highlights variances for query;
- Processes entries in SAP.
**Main Outcome 7: Trust Audit Accounting (10%)**
- Processes approved trust payment requests;
- Maintains the trust audit register;
- Reconciliation of trust accounts;
- Processes depreciation on SA.
**Main Outcome 8: Assets Register (5%)**
- Processes approved capital expenditure requests;
- Maintains the fixed assets register with additions and disposals;
- Reconciles fixed asset register with SAP;
- Processes depreciation on SAP.
**Main Outcome 9: Back-up (5%)**
- Providing back-up within finance team for staff that might be on leave;
- Performing the back-up duties in an acceptable manner that would've resulted in the same outcome if the staff had not been on leave.
