**Job Description: Drone Security Pilot**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Drone Operations**:

- Conduct BVLOS flights for surveillance and monitoring within designated security zones.
- Perform pre-flight inspections, mission planning, and post-flight evaluations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
- Operate drones in accordance with South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) guidelines and internal protocols.
- **Security Monitoring and Response**:

- Support real-time threat detection, assessment, and reporting using drone technology.
- Collaborate with ground teams to ensure a coordinated security response during incidents.
- Implement and maintain protocols for secure handling and storage of drone data.
- **Compliance and Certification**:

- Ensure adherence to all SACAA regulations and security protocols for drone operations.
- Maintain up-to-date certifications, including the Remote Pilot License (RPL) with BVLOS endorsement and National Keypoint Certification.
- Uphold the standards of a Grade C PSIRA registration.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:

- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of drone equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Manage inventory of drone parts, accessories, and maintenance records.
- **Reporting**:

- Generate detailed reports on surveillance activities, incident findings, and operational outcomes.
- Provide regular feedback to management on the effectiveness of drone-based security operations.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Valid **Remote Pilot License (RPL)** with **BVLOS endorsement**.
- Minimum **100 hours of BVLOS flight experience** in security operations or similar fields.
- **National Keypoint Certification**.
- **Grade C PSIRA Registration**.

**Preferred Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
- Proficient in the use of drone technology and associated software for surveillance and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in security operations or a related field is highly advantageous.

**Work Environment**:

- High-security sites requiring strict adherence to protocols.
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work, potentially in adverse weather conditions.
