Activities managed include Marine exploration, geophysical surveys, sampling, mining, ship conversion, upgrades and maintenance, large project management, engineering design and mining system equipment builds. DBM executes industry leading R&D in marine mining practices resulting in the most successful and advanced marine mining equipment and operations globally.

The primary role would be to co-ordinate, control and be responsible for the stock and materials within store. Further, the incumbent will assist the Materials Controller in the execution of his functions to ensure effective stores management onboard the vessel as well as lend administrative assistance to the Planner relating to planning, scheduling and monitoring of maintenance.
- Ensuring the correct and efficient capturing of transactions on the SAP interfaces
- Maintaining cost effective materials handling and storage procedures and preservation requirements to ensure stock and equipment longevity
- Ensuring all goods received from Supply Chain Centre are verified and processed on SAP
- Reporting all defects, discrepancies to planner for investigation
- Analysing the flow of materials
- Identifying non conformances and implement corrective action
- Monitoring and informing the Materials Management of stock and special requirements
- Resolving MM queries with the shorebased MM team and Production Engineers
- Formulating the inventory reports in terms of stock turn ratio’s, non-conformances
- Creating and updating SAP R/3 PM notifications and PM orders
- Assisting the Planner with the preparation and administration of the weekly plan
- Assisting the planner with the preparation and updating of the weekly shutdown project plans and the retrospect reports.
- Assisting the Planner with the training of relevant vessel staff in the SAP R/3 PM module.

**Qualifications**:
**Qualification required**:

- Matric
- A diploma / certificate in Supply Chain Management

**Experience required**:

- SAP experience in MM module
- Exposure to SAP PM module advantageous
