Connection Mental Healthcare Pty Ltd is an addiction clinic situated close to the beach front on Rodwell Road, St James, Cape Town. Connection Mental Health Care partners with Connection SGGZ, with headquarters and multiple treatment facilities in the Netherlands.

Our main focus is on addiction and dependency related issues as well as comorbid mental health problems, for instance, anxiety, depression, personality disorders. The treatment we provide is individualized and patient-centered. Our facility can provide inpatient care to 24 patients.

We are now in the process of expanding our treatment team. This clinic provides 7-week inpatient treatment and all treatment will take place in English. Inpatient treatment is followed by outpatient long-term aftercare when patients who return to The Netherlands. We only treat adult patients who come to us on a voluntary basis and who are motivated to change.

Treatment takes place in a multi-disciplinary setting. This team of engaged and qualified professionals guarantees a personal and goal-directed approach based on current evidence based treatment practices. We are guided by high quality care, satisfied patients and joy in our work. As an organisation we have a positive attitude towards providing care in a hospitable atmosphere and to empower our clients to achieve long-lasting recovery.

**Place in the organisation**

The social worker forms an integral part of the therapeutic team and reports to the clinic director and consultant.

**Main tasks and responsibilities**

The social worker provides treatment to adults with addiction and comorbid problems.
- Provide group therapy together with colleagues as well as individual therapy
- Share the responsibility for a suitable treatment plan and continuously evaluate and modify treatment plans, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to comply with changes in clients' status
- Collaborate with colleagues and be an active part of the multi-disciplinary team
- Diligent and timely reporting of therapy sessions into the electronic patient file
- Be on top of current rules and regulations relating to diagnostics and treatment
- Planning aftercare and coordinating a safe discharge

**Job requirements**
- The minimum requirement for this position is a completed degree in Social Work
- Two years minimum relevant work experience
- A passion to work in the field of addiction treatment
- Knowledge of and experience with addiction and dependency related problems
- Computer literacy
- Police Clearance Certificate
- Experience in addiction treatment is preferred
