**TRAINING OFFICER (STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER)
**Requirements:
- An appropriate M+3 Degree/Diploma in Public Administration/Management,
Education, Social Work, and Psychology.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience within Student Affairs in a
University environment.
- Exposure in conducting facilitation and developing training materials.
- Experience in Student Leadership guidance and support.
- Knowledge of relevant higher education legislative framework
**Skills and competencies
- Proven record of student development and training.
- Exposure and experience in managing training sessions.
- Extensive knowledge of student administration and support.
- Sensitivity to student’s needs and ability to play advocacy role for students.
- Ability to implement policies and advance a vibrant campus life for students
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in teams.***
**Duties**
Duties include but not limited to the following:
- Initiate, implement and evaluate training and development programmes for
student leaders.
- Promote a vibrant campus life through campaigns that enhances the quality of
student life.
- Guide and support the development of student structures as well as Student
Representative Council.
- Support strategic alignment in developing a second curriculum for competent
student leaders.
- Promote good governance by ensuring compliance with University policies,
rules and regulations.
- Manage resources allocated students in accordance with the approved policies.
- Conduct regular awareness workshops to equip and educate student leaders
structures on existing and new approved university polices.
- Conduct political, social and religious development as well tolerance workshops
with relevant stakeholders.
- Rotationally consolidate activities report for all training and development
initiatives conducted on monthly basis.
- Support the Annual Performance Plan (APP) of Student Life, Governance and
Development under Student Affairs Division.
