JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:
**1. General**

**Job Title**:
EXECUTIVE: NETWORK OPERATIONS

**Key Job Purpose**:
Reporting directly to the CTO, the Executive Network Operations is responsible for the maintenance and operational support of the Massive Internet of Things (IOT) National Sigfox South Africa Network.

The Executive Network Operations serves as the primary point of contact for Key Customers and Service Providers in relation to maintaining and restoring network services with the purpose of improving the network in relation to our customer experience.

Tasks and Duties

**Strategy**:

- Ensure the Technology strategy is documented and communicated extensively.
- Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders by developing a stakeholder strategy.
- Gather and analyse product and service requirements from multiple customers facing entities
- Implement a cross-functional technology delivery model, interfacing across multiple areas e.g. Strategy, Finance, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and external parties (e.g. suppliers)
- Evolve and manage the technology governance process.
- Manage product roadmap and oversee the development of new products.
- Collaboration with product development team to identify profitable products and eliminate less profitable ones to maximise operational efficiencies

**Network Operations**:

- Control cost and expenses against budget (OPEX/CAPEX)
- Optimize the end-to-end relevant process flow to ultimately ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide consolidated technology-based innovation, concepts and roadmaps to satisfy business requirements and create new demand - Ensure vendor management of equipment and solution providers
- Continuously review the Network modernisation tactical plans and advise the Integration and Build plans
- Ensure solutions provide excellent customer experience for end subscribers.
- Develop relevant documents as input to technical teams - Responsible for the operational management of ISP’s
- Provide feedback to requestor in the form of consolidated high-level product architecture, costing and time lines
- Design and implement workaround solutions and out-of-the-box thinking to ensure network uptime.

**Product performance**:

- Determine imperative actions to improve overall Unabiz product and service performance
- Ensure targeted service and performance standards are achieved or exceeded as set by Unabiz
- Manage the operational performance of Channel Partners to ensure excellent customer experience for end subscribers
- Determine areas for improvement to increase network performance.

**Stakeholder partnership**:

- Serve as the key interface between Sigfox South Africa, Unabiz and Channel Partner on all technical matters
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Manage internal and external customer relationships.
- Manage the relationships with Unabiz and Channel Partners to ensure exceptional customer experience.
- Conduct complex negotiations with internal customers and suppliers.
- Source, vet and select vendor(s) to provide for the product and system requirements
- Manage all vendor interactions, engagements and contracts (e.g. technical contract negotiations, ensure operations meet SLAs and vendor performance management)
- Ensure targeted service and performance standards are achieved or exceeded.

People management:

- Manage the performance, productivity development and wellbeing of own team.
- Manage own functional team to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure legislator compliance and corporate governance.
- Drive EE/AA/ Diversity targets for own functional team
- Ensure leadership and performance that is aligned with Sigfox South Africa’s culture and values

**Qualification and Experience**

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum**:

- Relevant degree (NQF level 7). MBA will be an advantage.

Experience:Minimum:

- 10 years’ relevant experience, of which at least 2 years must be at an executive management level
