Systems Manager

We are seeking a **highly skilled and versatile Systems Manager** with a deep understanding of **API integrations**, **system management**, **Power BI reporting**, and **AI technologies** to join our team. This role supports a **construction and property group** focused on advancing technology for **business management**, **design and construction management**, and other business areas, including **hospitality** and **serviced apartments**.
In this key role, you will be responsible for **managing and optimising our system architecture** across global operations, focusing on connecting data flows across platforms, enhancing reporting capabilities, and introducing AI-driven insights to further our business goals.
This role requires a **maverick with technology**—someone who is both innovative and hands-on with technical connections, process-driven, and committed to **documenting business and technology workflows**. The Systems Manager will initially work solo, but as our operations expand, they will **build and lead a team of employees and contractors**.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **System Management & API Integrations**:
- Develop and manage **API connections** between internal systems, third-party platforms, and databases, optimising system communication to improve data accuracy and accessibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or disruptions related to system integrations, ensuring mínimal impact on business operations.
- Oversee system upgrades, patches, and testing to ensure operational continuity and security.
- **Power BI & AI-Driven Reporting**:
- Design and implement **Power BI dashboards** and reporting systems to provide actionable insights, supporting decision-making in areas like construction management, design, hospitality, and property services.
- Leverage **AI tools** within Power BI and other platforms to enhance reporting capabilities, automate data analysis, and introduce predictive insights.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather reporting requirements and ensure that reports and dashboards align with business objectives across the construction and property group.
- **Documentation & Process Management**:
- Document **business processes, workflows, and technology integrations** to create a clear, organised framework for all system interactions across different business lines, including construction, property, and hospitality.
- Develop and maintain **technology process guides**, best practices, and training materials to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Proactively review and update documentation as systems evolve or processes change, ensuring that records remain accurate and up to date.
- **Team Leadership & Development**:
- Work independently to establish and implement technology solutions, with the flexibility to support different time zones and global operations.
- Over time, **recruit, train, and manage a team of employees and contractors**, building a skilled and agile technology team to support our expanding business needs across all divisions.
- Set and uphold high standards for team performance, quality, and efficiency, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.

- Act as a technology innovator, constantly exploring emerging solutions, tools, and processes to improve system performance, data management, and business outcomes.
- Work closely with leadership to identify and implement **AI technologies** and automation solutions that drive operational efficiencies and promote business growth in all areas of the property group.
- Maintain a forward-thinking approach, ensuring that our systems, processes, and reporting capabilities are scalable and adaptable to future business requirements.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- **Bachelor’s degree** in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
- **5+ years’ experience** in systems management, integration, or a related technical role, preferably within a multi-regional or global organisation.
- Proven expertise with **API integrations**, system management, and troubleshooting across complex technology stacks.
- Advanced proficiency in **Power BI** reporting, including experience with data visualisation, custom reporting, and AI-driven insights.
- Experience implementing **AI tools** for business intelligence, reporting automation, or other process improvements.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills, with a commitment to maintaining detailed, accurate records of business and technical processes.
- Leadership potential, with previous experience in **managing contractors** or **building and leading a team** a plus.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly, adjusting hours to support both UK and Sydney business operations as needed.
