**Role Purpose**
- The purpose of this role is to analyse South African and African private markets managers, secondaries and co-investment opportunities and make recommendations and proposals to the Alternative Investments Investment Committee.

**Requirements**:

- BCom, Finance, Investment Management or related degree
- CFA, CA or CAIA would be advantageous
- 3+ years' investment experience
- Study to obtain RE 5 FAIS qualification for Category II to register as a representative

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Analyse and maintain coverage of private equity managers, secondary opportunities and co-investment opportunities
- Analyze and maintain coverage of private debt and infrastructure managers as well as opportunities
- Develop financial models to project potential returns and assess the impact of different scenarios on overall fund performance.
- Review and maintain databases and valuation models
- Conduct investment due diligence on underlying managers
- Prepare investment committee proposals for primary, secondary and co-investment opportunities
- Present investment committee proposals to the various committees
- Manage the liquidity requirements of the various private market funds, manage the execution and implementation of capital calls and distributions from underlying funds and direct investments.
- Monthly performance reporting and preparation of quarterly reports to investors for private equity, private debt and infrastructure portfolios
- Keep abreast of the external environment in which the segment operates
- Complete competitor analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors
- Analyse investment portfolios and financial instruments based on the outcomes and requirements of the mandate and business requirements
- Projects short
- and long-term values of stock compared with historical evaluations relative to a market index
- Provide research, analysis and insight to recommend approaches on the construction and management of portfolios
- Using ongoing research make recommendations regarding the appropriate improvements on solutions to ensure market dynamics are considered and effectively applied
- Create awareness of the OBI philosophy across Momentum Group in order to foster greater understanding and buy-in to the philosophy
- Ensure that the portfolio management and risk management processes are applied
- Foster effective working relationships and collaborate within the CoE, segments and external stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for investments
- Monitor, measure, attribute and report on the performance of solutions to ensure the product is managed relative to the outcome defined
- Assess and measure the social or environmental impact of funds in the impact investing space, using established impact metrics and frameworks
- Assist with the analysis and explanation of performance variances
- Ensure asset allocation views are implemented and aligned according to the OBI view
- Build broad base financial models to support business decision making and determine potential financial consequences of investment decisions
- Identify and develop independent research techniques to enhance research output.
- Build and maintain relationships with universe of managers
- Build and maintain relationship with external investors and internal stakeholders
- Acquire and share product, process and system knowledge
- Share trends and ideas with other colleagues
- Represent on the advisory committees and other client forums of the underlying funds and investments
