Duties/Pligte

Two positions, aimed at training young, South African, academic staff, are available.

The incumbent will have to register for their PhD (part-time) in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering,

Stellenboch University (SU) at the first available opportunity after joining the Department.

The incumbent will typically spend three days per week on PhD studies. Two days per week will be devoted to work in the Department that can include academic and/or technical support.

This departmental work will not necessarily be related to the PhD research.

The incumbent can choose a mentor and supervisor, in consultation with the Department's management, from the senior academic staff of this Department.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- An ECSA accredited BEng or BSc(Eng) degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, or equivalent;a copy of the final, submitted thesis must be provided three days before the oral interview.Proof of submission must also be provided;- Good communication and teaching skills;- The ability to effectively teach in English;- Good interpersonal skills;- Proven research skills.'n ECSA geakkrediteerde BIng of BSc(Ing) graad in meganiese of megatroniese ingenieurswese, of gelykwaardig;- 'n MIng (navorsing) graad in meganiese of megatroniese ingenieurswese, of gelykwaardig, OF bewys dat die posbekleër geregistreer is vir die graad.
