Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and bake a wide variety of artisanal breads, pastries, and specialty items, focusing on quality, flavour, and presentation.
- Create and follow detailed recipes while also being able to innovate and customise products to suit seasonal demands.
- Manage dough production, shaping, proofing, and baking processes to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Oversee the mixing, measuring, and ingredient preparation processes for all baked items.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to incorporate baked items into seasonal menus and special offerings.
- Monitor inventory and maintain stock levels for baking ingredients, assisting with ordering as needed.
- Uphold strict hygiene and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Perform daily quality checks on all baked items to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction.

**Requirements**:

- Citizenship: South African
- Education: Baking or Pastry qualification or equivalent artisanal baking experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years as an Artisan Baker in a luxury hotel, restaurant, or bakery.

**Skills**:

- Technical Baking Skills: Expertise in artisanal baking techniques, including sourdough, laminated dough, and specialty bread production.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision in baking processes and presentation.
- Creativity: Ability to develop and customise recipes, bringing creativity to traditional and seasonal baked goods.
- Time Management: Strong organisational skills to manage baking schedules and ensure fresh, timely products for service.
- Consistency & Quality Control: Commitment to producing consistent, high-quality products with every batch.
- Team Collaboration: Willingness to work closely with the culinary team to create a seamless dining experience.
- Inventory & Cost Management: Ability to manage ingredient inventory, reduce waste, and support cost control initiatives.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to last-minute menu changes or special guest requests.

Additional Requirements:

- Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
