Receive order from Warehouse Manager or designated person to load, offload or move stock
- Transport stock between loading, off-loading and storage areas using the Reach Truck
- Operate controls and lifting devices of Reach Truck in order to load, offload, transport and stack stock
- Manually load or offload stock onto or off pallets or lifting devices
- Secure products onto pallet or lifting device for safe transportation to designated areas within warehouse/yard
- Perform routine maintenance of Reach Truck
- Check weight of consignment before lifting/moving
- Operate forklift in a safe manner and within the confines of the speed limit
- Ensure pathways clear and safe before operating the reach truck
- Signal persons in pathway of the Reach Truck, slow down and ensure persons are clear of the Reach Truck before continuing
- Ensure safety signs and pathway markings in demarcated areas of the warehouse are observed when operating the Reach Truck
- Pack stock according to set layout
- Keep sections orderly and neat and tidy at all times Handle stock with care and take necessary steps to ensure safety of stock at all times
- Ensure all possible preventative measures in place and carried out to eliminate stock theft
- Prior to departure at close of each day, ensure all section stock is packed neatly in section
- Report to Floor Manager prior to departure at end of each day
- Report any losses or damage to Operations Manager immediately.
- Conduct Reach Truck pre-checks daily before use including oil, water, and ensure in good order
- Replenish diesel and oil daily
- Report any concerns regarding the roadworthiness of the Reach Truck to the Operations Manager or Warehouse Managers immediately that they become apparent via completion of a written report form.
- Take full responsibility for vehicle at all times.
- Ensure safe operation of the machine as per the reach truck training course
- Provide assistance as required with moving of stock.
- Provide assistance with loading and off-loading of vehicle.
- Relieve truck assistants when need arises.
- Clean all areas, including warehouse, warehouse offices, showroom and cloakroom thoroughly on a daily basis.
- Grade 12
- Valid Forklift Driver’s certificate A minimum of
- 2 year’s forklift driving experience
