This is one of those roles that doesn't come along very often. A leading events management company (they do big events) needs a Designer.

It sounds simple, but you'll be designing the layouts for all the structures that are used during events, like marquees (big ones). You'll produce all the drawings and technical layouts (like where the power points need to be). This will include 3D renders and presentations, as well as furniture and equipment layouts, relating to the client's brief.

That's not all You will also get involved in graphic design, for brochures and catalogues for example. Much of this is already set out, but you will need to adapt the designs for each client.

Needless to say you will interact with clients and project managers and the contractors who install the venues and equipment, so you'll need to be good a communicating and making sure that everyone knows what they are doing.

This is a deadline driven, highly stressful business. If you enjoy a low key 9-5 existence, this is not the job for you. Clients change their mind, suppliers will let you down and people won't listen. But if you enjoy being challenged and driven, you'll love this job. The satisfaction you'll get when an event goes to plan and is a huge success, is like nothing you've experienced before.

In terms of experience you will need to know AutoCAD, Revit and Lumion. The graphic stuff is done in CorelDraw and PhotoShop. Given the salary and the level of responsibility you should have around 5 years' relevant design experience.

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R30,000.00 per month
