Job-related Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in taxation and/or finance, accounting firm, advisory practice or commercial.
- External taxation experience, preferably with an audit firm with exposure to multiple industries/clienteles.
- Exposure to:

- Local indirect tax regimes (VAT, WHT and non-payroll related) concepts and issues.
- South African/African corporate income tax and statutory filing requirements.
- South African/African accounting conventions and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of internal controls and process and procedures required.

Willing to work overtime and extended hours where necessary.
Electives

Matric with exemption.
BCom Taxation, Accounting and Masters or Post Graduate qualification in taxation or equivalent.
Exposure / experience to Corporate Income Tax, withholding tax for other Africa countries, including but not limited to Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique and Angola.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Control and oversight of the complete South African/Sub-Saharan Africa (“SSA”) corporate income tax (“CIT”) function for DSV Group of companies - Includes liaising with in-country and local financial support staff for quarterly and yearly group tax reporting, annual and provisional CIT submissions and payments as well as AFS computations.
- Monthly Receiver of Revenue Reconciliations for the SA and SSA group of companies
- AFS audit query finalization, reporting and submission
- Monthly effective tax rate reporting journals and summary to finance for processing
- Ad hoc responses and submissions to SARS relating to all CIT related queries/verifications/requests for the DSV SSA group of companies.
- SSA CIT risk analysis and reporting - where applicable and necessary.
- Ad hoc assistance with other tax types of queries/requests from SARS and SSA Revenue Authority related to audit queries (WHT and Payroll)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct Tax (including CIT, WHT and ad hoc requests).
- Review and approval of direct tax returns for entities processed by the R-SSC.
- Management of direct tax provider relationship(s).
- Identify training opportunities for R-SSC staff and ERP systems configuration changes necessary to increase the accuracy and completeness of the direct tax returns.
- Assist in drafting regional direct tax policies and procedures as needed.
- Coordinating and responding to direct tax audit requests.
- Other Fiscal Filing.
- Review and approval of filings for entities processed by the R-SSC.
- Management of outsourced provider relationship(s).
- Identify training opportunities for R-SSC staff.
- Tracking and communicating internally any changes in the requirements for other fiscal filings.
- Assist in drafting other regional fiscal filing procedures as needed.
- Coordinating and responding to fiscal filing audit requests.
- Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Accounts And Tax Declarations.
- Assist in implementation of CIT process model.
- Liaise and coordinate activities with Tax Department at Group.
- Participate in development and implementation of CIT processes within the R-SSC as needed

Statutory Financial Filings.
- Assist in implementation of Statutory Audited Financial Statement process model(s).
- Liaise with Controllers.
- Participate in development and implementation of statutory financial statement processes with the R-SSC as needed.
- Ensure Process Compliance.
- Execution and Compliance Monitoring against Group Accounting Policies.
- Local Audit Planning Against Group Plan.
- Compliance with the Agreed Audit Approach.
- Management of the Audit Activities against agreed audit plan.
- Coordination and Reporting of Audit Activities Against the Auditor’s Plan.
- Relationship management with Regional Auditors.

Work closely with Global Finance Process Domain Owners and Business Partners.
