Junior Underwriting Technician/administrator

Our client within the Financial Services Industry (Insurance) requires to employ a young lady to join their team. This is an AA/Non-EE position, based in Centurion. Whether you are completely new to the industry with an interest in Insurance or whether you are a young professional within the Insurance industry we definitely would like to hear from you.
**Duties**
- Quoting from information received from brokers.
- Issuing policies in line with the quotation accepted.
- Policy administration on existing policies.
- Dealing with queries on existing policies, telephonic and in writing.
- Dealing with queries on the Senate product, telephonic and in writing.
**Minimum Requirements**
- Insurance qualifications and experience, preferable but not essential.
- Language requirements - fluent in English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable).
- Good telephone skills and ability to handle difficult clients.
- Basic administration and accurate data capturing skills is an essential.
- Good ability to work with people around, as we are an open plan office.
- Good ability to work under pressure and a sense of urgency.
- Understand the necessity to follow procedures, but use initiative if something unusual is required.
- Strong team player and the ability to fit in with an already well established department.
**General**
- Reliable transportation is essential as the position is office based, with no work from home policy.
- Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 17:00 with an hour lunch.
- The company does not offer any perks or allowances, but a fixed monthly salary, and where due a performance based bonus at company’s own discretion.
**About the Company**
Our client has a large footprint in the GIT market, with a relatively small, but well picked staff compliment.
- We work in an open plan office with an energetic vibe, so often the whole office engages in chats, albeit work related or a little bit of “fun” chat.
- We are a UMA, and deal with brokers, not transporters directly. So there is no direct selling or cold calling clients, as we rely on our large portfolio of broker to bring business to us.
- We pride ourselves in good turn around times and our friendly and efficient handling of queries and instructions.
- The team player aspect comes into play at times when it is busier than usual. As a team it is important that the whole department is up to date, and therefore we all take work off each other and (although not often) if need be, we work a bit longer than office hours to stay up to date. This is very seldom and no staff is penalized if they don’t work outside of office hours.
- Our staff are not required to take calls after hours, and therefore a company cell phone is not given.
- Our dress code is simple, and while jean’s are allowed, it needs to be understood that level of professionalism is important as we do on occasion have brokers in the office for a meeting. So rule of thumb - no torn jeans, no crop tops, no shorts, and no slippers. Unless we are doing something fun like “slipper day”.
- We do not close over December, however, we do work skeleton staff over this time, and for this reason December leave between Christmas and new year is on a turn by turn basis.
**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month
