**Main duties and responsibilities**:
People Management:

- Identify, recruit and train sales agents
- Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed
- Agree on targets and service levels with sales agents, by conducting daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance discussions
- Support sales agents in their sales efforts i.e., preparing quotes, and assisting with converting into business
- Provide constant communication and feedback to all stakeholders relating to all aspects of the sales operation; Coach and mentor team leaders on daily basis in order for them to improve their teams’ productivity
- Identify, open, and cultivate new sources of PPS members
- Establish and maintain a succession plan for the team, using the formal talent management process for identified talent and an informal process for remaining roles
- Arrange and co-ordinate campaigns
- Monitor the flow of and resolve any problems relating to quotes and new business
- Coordinate and facilitate presentations to PPS and prospective members
- Growth of the team will be dependent on performance
- Address poor performance of team members through the formal Performance enhancement program and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with
- Assist in growing the intermediary relationships in order to build PPS STI Member base
- Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognized, e.g., incentives and recognition programmes
- Take responsibility for growing premium income
- Control Loss ratios to acceptable PPS STI business standards

Risk and Control Objective:

- Ensure that all activities and duties carried out are fully compliant with regulatory requirements, the enterprise-wide risk management framework and internal PPS Policies and Policy Standards
- Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role
- Allocate duties to team members in order to achieve operational targets, including prioritisation and staff scheduling
- Based on gaps identified, motivate requests to have additional resources: including, people, budget, and equipment
- Obtain a thorough understanding of the Sales business unit strategy and explain it to team members in a way that they understand their contribution required
- Explain targets and take accountability for the monitoring and achievement of performance objectives in the sales department, in terms of employee satisfaction, customer experience, risk and compliance. Create quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans to ensure results delivery
- Manage departmental incentive budget, Implement productivity and improvement measures by coaching and mentoring

Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders (e.g., product providers, product owners, internal and external customers) by meeting with them on a regular basis.
- Address any concerns and issues with stakeholders and negotiate deliverables based on SLA's. Manage the working relationship with internal departments (e.g., Administration, Financial Control, and IT) by engaging and consulting on service gaps and put the plan in place for implementation in order to improve call centre service delivery
- Identify and engage with the key role players within the PPS Group to assist in enhancing the PPS Member value proposition
- Service procedures and processes that could be used within in PPS STI to enhance Member experience
- Administer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with product providers, campaign managers, internal and external distribution and ensure that contracted SLAs are obtained and met

Reporting:

- Populate balance scorecards for the Sales department on a monthly basis according to business outline processes
- Provide Management Information (MI) reports on campaigns to assess if agreed SLAs are being met
- Conduct statistical analysis to track performance variances and determine causes of errors
- Make recommendations for productivity or process enhancement to Reporting Line

Achievement of financial goals:

- Achieve annual sales targets according to business objectives, potential and growth, through delegation and close monitory of the performance of internal and external sales force
- Track and monitor the Sales force’s performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis through sales performance statistics, and provide coaching and feedback on how to improve and sustain their performance
- Discuss and agree with team members individual targets for products and campaigns to be driven as the year unfolds,
- Track the overall performance statistics per team member through an individual sales performance schedule to enable easy, quick, and effective review of due incentives and/or commission

**Education**:

- Matric (Grade 12)
- Short Term Insurance qualification preferable
- 3-year degree will be beneficial
- FAIS compliant (150 credits at NQF level 4) - Perso
