Job spec
The role of the Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organisation. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. A typical Accounts Payable clerk performs day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner. **This is a contract position for three months.**
Reporting to: Financial Manager
**Main Duties and responsibilities**:

**Creditors Function**:

- **
Ø Full function creditors
Ø Capture of expense invoices on DAX
Ø Liaise with Controllers in regard to file related expenses.
Ø Perform weekly, bi-monthly and monthly creditors reconciliations.
Ø Handle all creditors queries.
Ø Resolve all queries timeously.
Ø Do own electronic filing.
Ø Capture payments made on the DAX system.
Ø Capture EFTs on the banking system
Ø Update cash flow daily.
Ø Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
Ø Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Ø Maintaining historical records
Ø Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance.
Ø Handling Petty Cash and ensuring Petty Cash balances monthly
Ø Monthly accruals
Ø Continuing to improve the payment process.

Ø Minimum of 3 to 5 years creditors experience
Ø Proficient in Excel
Ø Microsoft Dynamics and Shipshape knowledge will be an advantage.
Ø Be deadline driven.
Ø Meticulous and have a high level of attention to detail.
Ø Be flexible to change in workload, processes, and additional responsibilities.
Ø Be responsible and accountable for all work performed.
Ø This is a position that involves trust, honesty and integrity in all aspects of the function.
Ø Be prepared to work overtime.
Ø Be prepared to work as part of a fast paced, pressurised team.
Ø Good communication skills at all levels
