Operations Manager for The Farmyard Christian

The Farmyard Christian Recreation Park is seeking a bright-minded, confident operations manager to take charge of all aspects of this seasonal business. Must have experience in management, particularly on farms, the hospitality industry, or related fields.

The position requires a hands-on, multi-skilled all-rounder, who is willing to work on weekends and public holidays in summer, with long hours during peak season, and to remain on stand-by 24/7 in case of unforeseen circumstances. Must reside in the vicinity and own reliable transport. A rental cottage on the property is a future possibility.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Implementing and maintaining management systems
- Recruiting, training, and managing permanent and seasonal staff
- Ensuring compliancy in all departments
- Transporting staff
- Supervising or performing routine tasks such as:

- Checking park amenities, animal farmyard, and grounds
- Repairs and maintenance tasks
- Park cleaning, refuse dumping
- Pool cleaning and chemicals
- Irrigation and care of lawns and trees
- Ordering and fetching stocks and materials
- Servicing and maintenance of equipment and vehicles
- Monitoring security equipment and fencing
- Routine care of farmyard animals
- Sewerage management
- Annual tasks such as weed spraying, lawn fertilizing etc.

Customer liaison
- Admitting customers, taking payments, vehicle queue management
- Handling problems and complaints

Administrative tasks:

- Cash reconciliation and banking
- Payroll, staff leave etc.
- Record keeping and basic bookkeeping
- Monitoring online ticket sales and bookings
- Stocking tuck shop and serving customers when necessary

SALARY: R20 000 - R25 000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications. An initial 6-month contract with a 2-month probation period, after which the position will be reassessed.
