**VACANT POSITION - Food and Beverage Manager**

**Kedar Heritage Lodge, Conference Centre & Spa (Rustenburg) requires the services of a Food and Beverage Manager.**

The incumbent needs to have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role and able to coordinate full Food and Beverage function.

The responsibilities will include:

- Develops and manages all financial, employee engagement and guest satisfaction plans and actions for Food and Beverage departments
- Maintains a positive cost management index for kitchen and restaurant operations
- Utilizes budgets to understand financial objectives
- Supervises and manages employees. Manages all day-to-day operations
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial / business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example
- Creates and nurtures a property environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement and a passion for providing service
- Respond quickly and proactively to employee's concerns
- Provides a learning atmosphere with a focus on continuous improvement
- Provides proactive coaching and counselling to team members
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Monitors and maintains the productivity level of employees
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
- Provides the leadership, vision and direction to bring together and prioritize the departmental goals in a way that will be efficient and effective
- Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
- Understand the brand's service culture
- Takes ownership of a guest complaint until it is resolved, or it has been addressed by the appropriate manager or employee
- Verifies all banquet functions are up to standard and exceed guest's expectations
- Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner
- Knowledge and understanding of financial knowledge, controls, inventory, costs, expenses, and all cash handling procedures and policies

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Must have matric
- Hotel Management diploma or equivalent
- 4-5 Years Food and Beverage Management experience within a 4/5- star hotel, or
- Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, culinary, or related professional area
- Previous Restaurant Manager experience
- Hands-on Problem-Solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Customer service driven with outstanding communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
- Huge emphasis on staff training and development
- Effective communication with members of staff as well as Guests of the Hotel
- Honest and trustworthy beyond approach
- Great attention to detail
- Presentable / Professional appearance and well spoken
- Team player who leads by example
- Interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills
- Driver’s License
- First Aid 1,2/3 would be an added advantage
- Must have inventory management experience and cost analysis experience
- Must have Menu and culinary knowledge and abilities
- Excellent numeracy skills
- High energy levels coupled with a positive attitude
- Computer skills
- Familiar with hospitality industry standards
- Knowledge of best practices for safety and sanitation
