Job Title: LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT MANAGER

Location: Musgrave, Durban

To manage all aspects of logistics & transport functions, including but not limited to supplier relationships, negotiations, operational requirements, fleet management, creating efficiencies through routing and scheduling, and administration functions in line with service requirements and within operational budgets.

**Qualification / Knowledge / Experience**
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in logistics, fleet management and operational-related environments of which 5 years should be in supervisory / management position
- Formal qualification (Diploma / Degree) in warehousing/transport/distribution/supply chain
- Distribution management experience, preferably in a temperature-controlled and / or medical industry environment.

**Skills**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of routing practices
- Strong Management skills

**Key Accountabilities**
- Overall planning, coordinating and controlling logistics & transport operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation and supply chain processes.
- To monitor and coordinate routing and scheduling practices across all regions.
- To work with the supervisors /controller at each site to ensure routing and scheduling plans are met.
- To ensure standard order dispatching practices are standardized across all sites and that SOPs are monitored and KPI’s measured.
- Set up tracking and monitoring across all sites to manage the process by ensuring that collections and deliveries are executed within agreed standards.
- To ensure that customer queries are processed/resolved.
- Manage fuel usage and other related cost across all regions and ensure that processes are in place to manage & reduce financial losses.
- Ensure that Department’s budgets are met and reviewed monthly.
- To set up monitoring and management of temperature-controlled collections and deliveries.
- To manage the HR management component of the department, including but not limited to performance management, talent identification and management, succession planning, training and development, disciplinary action.
- To ensure resources are correctly aligned and utilised to capacity across the Department for all sites.
- To adhere to strict health & safety protocols.
