- 15 - 20 years’ experience in Supply Chain & Logistics
- 5 years at tactical management level

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Horizon Planning**:

- Formulates or participates in formulating the organisational vision & mission statements
- Conceptualises short to medium term strategic plans
- Approves implementation of structures, resources & systems
- Articulates or provides input to articulating the vision and mission
- Directs short to medium term strategic plans & -policies and structure
- Facilitates feedback and provide guidance
- Monitors tactical level leadership and specialists' development plans
- Reports to the Executive Committee on the short to medium term resource plan and wellness strategy

**Financial Management**:

- Formulates short to medium term strategies
- Facilitates payments for general
- & assets procurement, capital goods / professional services
- Recommends large credit, write-offs, special projects for approval
- Plans and directs the annual budgeting process with own team
- Monitors capacity cost expenses against approved organisation's operating budget
- Presents monthly feedback report to Executive Committee

**Corporate Governance**:

- Recommends Corporate Governance structures, policies & procedures
- Makes recommendations at governance committees, information
- & decision-making bodies
- Directs internal Audit investigations
- Assesses progress on all statutory requirements including BBBEE and diversity strategies
- Compiles reports on statutory and governance standards

**Contracts/Supplier Management**:

- Provides input in the Procurement & Supplier Management Policy
- Recommends outsourced services/contracts/SLA's/outsourced agreements
- Leads internal customer & strategic supplier relationships
- Negotiates new contracts with suppliers / customers - Role of procurament
- Recommends evaluation process of partnerships / outsourced contracts/SLA's
- Monitors adherence to Procurement & Supplier management policy & procedures
- Analyses and approves monthly reports related to outsourced services / contracts
- **Change Management (Internal)**:

- Provides visionary change leadership to organisation and externally by providing thought leadership and guidance to industry
- Confirms organisational goals and direction clearly, consistently and regularly
- Liaises with and fosters sound ethical stakeholder relationships internal and external
- Provides feedback to executive team on impact of change with commensurate recommendations

**Change Management (Internal)**:

- Provides visionary change leadership to organisation and externally by providing thought leadership and guidance to industry
- Confirms organisational goals and direction clearly, consistently and regularly
- Liaises with and fosters sound ethical stakeholder relationships internal and external
- Provides feedback to executive team on impact of change with commensurate recommendations

**External Stakeholder Liaison**:

- Engages with industry/governmental stakeholders
- Participates in industry forums and stays abreast with global trends
- Directs organisation to set monitoring mechanisms in place for legislative/governmental/industry standards adherence
- Provides information in organisational annual reports regarding industry context

**Continuous Leadership Development**:

- Directs leadership development and succession planning for the medium to long term
- Provides continuous leadership guidance, coaching & development
- Monitors effectiveness of succession planning strategy and leadership development
- Monitors business risk concerning scarce skills and human resources needs at a tactical level and below
- Submits Succession & Development Plan progress reports to Board / Executive team

**Risk Management Flow**:

- Anticipates and identifies business and industry risk and strategies a mitigation strategy
- Obtains legal contractual advice to mitigate risk
- Manages and implements risk mitigating plans and preventative action strategies
- Facilitates the reports from risk owners on the effectiveness of the risk strategy for each risk identified
- Reports all risks identified and management thereof to internal audit
