-The purpose of this position is to manage the operations at the Durban Cash Centre of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) to ensure the availability and integrity of banknotes to the public.
-Detailed Description


- Make suggestions for refining the existing policies, processes, procedures and systems, thereby improving alignment with the requirements of the cash centre.

- Plan and manage the regional demand for banknotes to ensure the availability thereof.

- Manage the processing of banknotes to ensure there is an acceptable quality of banknotes in circulation.

- Manage the destruction of banknotes, in line with the minimum standards for recycling.

- Take responsibility for the continuous improvement of workflow to manage and optimise the resources of the cash centre.

- Collate and provide management information to the Divisional Head: Supply Chain Management for the purposes of decision-making.

- Identify and mitigate any risks related to the cash centre and ensure compliance with the relevant governance framework.

- Lead and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships at various levels to maintain and enhance the reputation of the SARB.

- Chair the Inter-banks Forums for Cash Operations and the Joint Planning Committee for business continuity and security networks.

- Fulfil the line management function pertaining to the development and performance of the team.

- Build and lead the team to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
Job Requirements

- a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Business Administration or an equivalent qualification; and

- at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a cash management environment, with at least three years at management level.
