**Position: Junior Internal Auditor**

**Based in**:DBN

**1.Purpose of the Role**:
Provide an independent, objective internal audit service to the Company by adding value and to improve CCI’s operations. The primary objective of the role is to help CCI accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve their risk management, internal controls, governance processes and accounting processes.

**2.** **Position Description - KRA / Main Outputs and Responsibilities**

**KRA 1 - Compliance reviews**
- Perform adequacy and effectiveness of internal control reviews across Company
- Compliance audit comprises detailed testing of adherence to company policies, processes, and procedures.

**KRA 2 - Financial control reviews**
- Perform financial control reviews
- Financial Control reviews comprise detailed and factual review of the status of financial controls as reflected in company trial balance at any given point in time.

**KRA 3 - Payroll reviews**
- Perform payroll reviews
- Payroll reviews comprise detailed analysis of a company's payroll processes to ensure accuracy.

**KRA 4 - Follow-up reviews**
- Perform follow-up review audits to determine the extent of corrective action

**KRA 5 - Technical/professional /special projects (as and when required)**
- Improvement of audit programs
- Creating of new audit programs for new focus areas.
- Review of Company policies and procedures when needed.

**KRA 6 - Participation in special investigations (as and when required)**
- Forensic
- Tip-off
- Management/Director request
- Investigation of high-risk areas

**KRA 7 - Ad hoc Director/Management requests**
- Stock counts
- Asset verification
- Any other administrative task

**Level of Authority**
- Junior position

**3.** **Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills**
- NQF level 7 (seven) BCom/National Diploma/B Tech: Internal Audit degree
- Honors/Post graduate degree or working towards
- Working towards CIA qualification

**4.** **Experience and Training**
- Fresh out of articles/1-2 years post article experience
- Knowledge of IIA standards
- General working knowledge of key processes that are critical to the business such as accounting, finance, procurement, payroll, and inventory
- Knowledge and experience with the use of internal audit software/skills and experience will be beneficial.

**5.** **Planning and Deadline Driven**
- Meet goals established by others.
- Schedule activities necessary for operational work completion
- Plan according to lists of tasks or activities
- Plan within framework of workplace standards, and procedures

**6.** **Communication**
- Required to display effective communications skills in any work situation
- Recognize miscommunication between parties & deal with it effectively
- Consciously use direct, open, two-way communication in area of responsibility
- Assess the needs of audience to deliver appropriate message and content.

**7.** **Persuasion**
- High levels of persuasiveness required
- Negotiate on regular basis with internal parties in organization to ensure objective achievement
- Anticipate and prepare for reactions

**8.** **Problem-solving**
- Use info available and solve problems at hand.
- Think outside the box to come up with recommendation by still adhering to core IIA standards
- Solve critical process problems with unique ideas that will benefit work environment
- Observe discrepancies, trends, and interrelations in data or in operational environment

- Make decisions within the framework of work standards & procedures.

- Must be able to adapt to constant changes within the Company.
- Be open to refine and update business knowledge through formal training and review process.

**11.** **Relationship building**
- Develop healthy relationships within all levels of the Company to cultivate trust and respect.
- Encourage the Company staff to see internal audit in an advisory/partnership role

- Regularly drive others towards adherence to stringent deadlines/ objectives
- Make a positive personal impact that is clear and succinct for the audience.
