**Job Advert Summary**:
**Purpose of the position**:
To conduct out-reach activities in the community of people who inject drugs by providing current accurate health information, providing HIV counselling and driving the outreach team to designated and scheduled sites daily.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 10
- Valid Code 08 or 10 driver’s licence with PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Accredited finger-pricking HIV testing certificate
- Minimum of 2 years driving experience
- Minimum of 6 months experience in HIV counselling and testing
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in English and isiXhosa/any local language
- Clear criminal record

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Identify and educate PWID clients on prevention interventions
- Distribution of HIV prevention commodities
- Actively identify the need to refer clients to other multi-disciplinary teams
- Provide accurate and current health information to PWID using a variety of delivery strategies
- Ensure safety of the outreach team safe driving by driving and adhering to the regulations
- Continuously assessing and reporting any need for repairs or maintenance of the vehicle
- Maintain relations with health services managers, indoor managers/owners and other gate keepers/stakeholders
- Utilise the record keeping formats provided for data capturing and reporting
- Actively participate in mapping
- Provide support and encouragement to PWID
