**Position Title**: Housekeeping Manager

**Reports To**: Cluster Hotel Manager

**Position Summary**:
Hyatt House Rosebank has an exciting opportunity available for a Housekeeping manager with a positive can-do attitude, strong work-ethic and great interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising all housekeeping employees; planning and assigning work assignments; training new recruits; audit and inspects housekeeping work assignments and requisition supplies; budgeting as well as stock taking, amongst other responsibilities. The successful applicant would also be comfortable and available to work on Sundays, public holidays etc.as per the industry norm.

**Executive Housekeeper Duties and Responsibility**:

- Plans the work for the housekeeping department and distributes assignments accordingly.
- Assigns duties for housekeeping staff.
- Daily inspection of public areas and employees’ locker rooms.
- Daily briefing with Team leaders and HSK staff
- Responsible for scheduling employees and assign extra days off according to occupancy levels.
- Maintains a time log book of all employees within the department.
- Recruit and train new employees.
- Assigns new employees to work with experienced help and check up on their work
- Maintain excellent guest service skills and professionally attend to special requests and complaints
- Responsible for budgeting, procurement, ordering and cost control of all equipment and amenities
- Understanding cost controls and keeping wastage and expenses under control
- Financial awareness particularly in managing budgets and stock and cost control
- Maintain a “Lost and found” area within Housekeeping and is responsible for all lost-and
- found items
- Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of the entire hotel
- Ensure that hotel standards are met within execution of duties
- Prepare annual Housekeeping budget.
- Maintain par stock and responsible for stock take of guest amenities, cleaning supplies, linen and uniform.
- Co-ordinate with vendors and maintain good relationships eg: Pest control, laundry services and other external services.
- Review the housekeeping points on the guest feedback forms, take actions on guest complaints and also share guest compliments with staff members.

**HYATT HOUSE JOHANNESBURG ROSEBANK**
- Organize inventories with accounts and general store for linen, uniform and fixed assets.
- Develop and implement Housekeeping SOPs
- Prepare reports for management information.
- Assist purchase department in selecting suppliers for items related to housekeeping.
- Organize on-the job training and evaluate its effectiveness.
- Coordinating the preventive maintenance schedule of rooms and public area with

Maintenance department.
- And adhere to any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by senior management

**Minimum requirements**:

- 3-4 years’ experience as a Housekeeping manager in a 4/5* hotel would be advantageous
- Matric certificate
- Be competent with MS package( Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- 4 years (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (required)
- Night Shift (required)
