About the job
To ensure proper end-to-end planning of equipment maintenance activities and to instil structure within the maintenance function.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

SAFETY
- Support Safety, Health, and Environment strategy
- Support the improvement of the overall Safety audit score (WISE) year on year.
- Foster a climate and culture where Safety, Health and Environment are addressed effectively and speedily.
- Ensure that all government and statutory requirements are complied with and that the health and safety standards of the factory area.
- Implement LOTO measures.

FOOD & SAFETY QUALITY
- Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality principles as included in the policies, procedures, product specifications and processes. This also includes general Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene practices.
- Identify and report any potential Food Safety & Quality and GMP deviations and hazards.

COST
- Deliver the required savings year on year and continuously identify opportunities to save costs.
- Reduce and manage spare parts consumptions.

MORALE
- Identify and implement training and development interventions for the engineering teams.
- Support creation of high performance and engaged teams
- Direct, manage and coach subordinate staff

DELIVERY
- Responsible for the maintenance clerk
- SAP Key User
- Responsible to establish, maintain and improve the maintenance planning and scheduling business flow process.
- Development and upkeep of maintenance process flow and accompanying processes and documentation.
- Developing and managing detailed maintenance schedules and work orders for all relevant equipment
- Coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities
- Ensuring that all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance performed, equipment condition, and maintenance costs
- Working with engineering and operations teams to plan and implement equipment modifications and upgrades
- Procuring necessary maintenance supplies and equipment
- Working with vendors and contractors as needed around maintenance activities
- Participating in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices
- Participate and facilitate root cause failure analysis on major and recurring breakdowns
- Central contact person for the site around equipment maintenance, projects schedules and reschedules
- Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability.
- Responsible for ISO Documentation & formalities of department
- Responsible for backlog management
- Creates plant layout for easy location identification
- Design and continuously improve reports needed by management

About you
KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

Qualification(s):

- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma or equivalent qualification

Experience and Skills:

- Minimum of 5 Years’ experience within a manufacturing, engineering or FMCG environment
