Our client is a well-known and well-established container storage and transport entity with depots in both Cape Town and Durban. Our client functions nationally as a storage and repairs facility for containers, both empty and full.

Our client has a vacant position for a **Human Resources Officer & Payroll Assistant**

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Human Resources or Relevant HR Qualification
- At least 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience
- Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
- Own reliable transport and valid Driver’s License
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent people skills
- Experience with Payroll administration (assist Payroll Department)
- Health and Safety exposure will be advantageous
- Experience on ECO Time will be advantageous

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Industrial Relations**:

- Assist and advise in disciplinary hearings;
- Advise Management and Supervisors on IR related matters;
- Preparation for CCMA cases.
- **Employment Equity**:

- Monitor Employment Equity Processes;
- Compile and submit Employment Equity analysis and plan;
- Compile and submit Employment Equity reports;
- Manage meetings with the Employment Equity Committee and other statutory processes.
- **Staff Procurement**:

- Draft person specifications;
- Draft advertisement and arrange placement in relevant media;
- Conduct interviews;
- Draft interviewing questions and criteria;
- Follow-up on references;
- Interpretation of behavioural analysis tests;
- Perform various risk checks;
- Attend to the administration of appointments.
- **Training and Development**:

- Compiling Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports;
- Compiling Skills Development reports;
- Setup and organise External and Internal Training.
- **Time and Attendance**:

- Administer timesheets (hours worked) in accordance with the BCOE Act and Time and Attendance Programme;
- **Human Resources Administration**:

- Administer
- Annual Leave
- Sick Leave
- Family Responsibility Leave
- Personnel Files
- Statutory documents including:

- UIF
- WCA
- Department of Employment and Labour
- Job descriptions
- Contracts of Employment
- **Health and Safety**:

- Updating Health and Safety Systems and Procedures in accordance with the Health and Safety Management System;
- Execute actions in terms of Health and Safety in accordance with the Health and Safety Systems (PPE, Injuries, Record Keeping, Organising Training for statutory/legal Appointees).

**Starting Date: 1 December 2023 or sooner.**
