Master Electrician

A leading engineering firm is looking for a Electrical Engineer to join their team, the successful incumbent must meet the below criteria;
- Take lead in Solar PV design, analysis and/or project management.
- You will work alongside project engineers, master electricians, project managers and contractors.
- Qualify analyse, develop and oversee the construction of renewable energy projects in the C&I fields.
- Play a key role in project management and will be responsible for the direction,

coordination, implementation, execution, control of projects from inception to completion
- Installation, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and servicing of electrical systems
- You should also be able to easily diagnose electrical faults and provide excellent customer service
- Carry out electrical installation inspections, testing and issue COC's
- Observing health and safety guidelines

**Qualifications**
- You must have completed a recognized Electrical trade test
- N6/ National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 3 phase wireman’s license
- A valid Master Installation Electrician certification, registered with the ECA or DOL.

**Technical Skills**
- Have 5+ years’ experience as an MIE working on LV/MV DC and AC installation and commissioning projects, power generation or construction environment.
- Your sound knowledge of Health and Safety, compliance and inspections to authorize COC’s, as well as ensuring work at height permits and other requirements are met.
- A natural, self-motivated and astute ability to self-manage and take responsibility for the company’s technical performance is essential.
- Manage Subcontractor installation teams is an advantage.
- Understanding of Inverter systems and commissioning of such systems an advantage.
- Understanding of system grounding and bonding is an advantage.
- Understanding of Municipal embedded generation bylaws and standards an advantage.

**Education**:

- Bachelors (preferred)

**Experience**:

- 5+ years’ experience as an MIE working on LV/MV DC and AC: 5 years (preferred)
- 3 phase wireman’s license: 5 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- A valid Master Installation Electrician certification (preferred)
- Registered with the ECA or DOL (preferred)
- Recognized Electrical trade test (preferred)
