Senior Manager: Quality Assurance Specialist

**Primary Purpose of the Job**

The key role of the Quality Assurance Specialist is to support, establish, facilitate, implement, maintain and where necessary improve the quality control system and provide technical support to the development, implementation and monitoring of audit programs, working papers and templates to ensure uniformed and high-quality engagements.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for the following key activities to achieve the main objectives:

- Conduct project quality control and year-end project quality control reviews provide in a timely manner result during and/or after completion of the engagements.
- Monitoring that the agreed corrective action for items identified during the quality control reviews to ensure corrective actions were implemented.
- Assist with the development and implementation of quality control procedures and working papers.
- Provide quality control related advice and guidance to Senior Managers and Auditors in respect of engagement performance and associated processes.
- Participate in initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the quality control review processes.
- Assist with the update and maintenance the ITCE QC Manual and related procedures in accordance with relevant changes as per BDO Audit Manual.
- Assist Senior Managers with first level reviews on engagements and provide feedback to teams on review notes.
- Update and enhance audit programs and working papers
- Improve quality control standards on projects base on reviews
- Feedback to teams regarding compliance to quality control manual
- Identify areas for training base on quality control reviews
- Assist with training programs
- Ensure timesheets are completed on Maconomy
- Check productivity levels for self and ensure they are meeting the set levels and communicate productivity levels to Senior Quality Assurance Specialist.
- Assist in the provision of training to staff were required on the completion of audit programs and working papers to ensure development of the staff to their full potential.
- Participates in the compilation of the ITCE department's annual budget as far as it relates to quality control and training as an added component to the overall budget.
- Assist and support the Senior Quality Control Specialist with the tracking and monitoring on spending regarding quality management related cost being business and/or product development.
- Conducts effective on the job training regarding the quality assurance process, ensuring that training needs of staff are appropriately addressed through knowledge impartation and use of coaching notes/review notes.
- Leads by setting a personal example of excellence, acting as a role model, embodying behaviours consistent with the ITCE vision and values that others respect and from which they learn.
- Develops team spirit/building in the Department involving the team members

**Qualifications, Recognition of Prior Learning, Work Experience, and Knowledge**

Qualifications/Recognition of Prior Learning equivalent:

- B.Com Accounting, Informatics, Computer Science or relevant degree
- CA/SA and/or CISA
- CGEIT or other

Work Experience:

- Minimum 3 years working experience in IT Auditing
- Minimum 2 years supervisor level in IT Auditing

Knowledge:

- ISQM1, ISQM2, ISO9001, ISA220
