**Purpose**

The main purpose of this position is to take primary responsibility for providing a comprehensive, pro-active and integrated HR advisory and generalist service to Africa-One Consulting (Pty) Ltd.

**Duties**

**A. **HR consulting/coaching**
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with line managers, staff, internal and external HR partners

- employment equity
- remuneration
- conditions of service
- performance management
- probation
- organizational design, including job evaluation
- Communicate/refer/escalate HR-related issues as appropriate
- Communicate relevant dates and deadlines for HR activities
- Participating in governance structures/ committees and provide input and advice on issues related to HR

**B. **Training & Development**
- Facilitate needs analysis within the company and provide input to organizational level training needs analysis
- Communicate and promote existing HR training and development opportunities
- Facilitate implementation of organizational wide HR training interventions
- Provide input to compilation of workplace skills plan and annual training report in consultation with line managers / department administrators
- developing specific induction programme for staff

**C. **Staff Recruitment**
- Advise on appropriate recruitment and selection policy and procedure
- Advise line managers on recruitment process for staff and serve on selection committees when requested
- Coordinate the appointment process in liaison with line managers and Finance and Administration Director
- Advise chairs of selection committees on all aspects of their role
- Advise clients on special appointments
- Facilitate move from contract to permanent appointments (with and without advertisement)
- Provide feedback to Finance and Administration Director on non-compliance, problems e.t.c

D. **Employee Relations**
- Advise line managers on disciplinary and grievance policy, process and procedure
- Coordinate and provide advice on restructuring activities
- Coordinate and provide advice on voluntary retrenchment and early retirement
- Monitor relationships between staff and management
- Provide feedback to Finance and Administration Director on employee relations climate in the departments e.t.c
- Give input on appropriate interventions to improve employee relations

E. **Remuneration and administration**
- Advise line managers on employee remuneration
- manage and delegate where appropriate with staff remuneration and administrative queries
- Provide input to department/company budgeting

**F. **Performance Management**
- Support the development and maintenance of a performance management culture which includes developing managers’ skills in this area.
- Work closely with line and staff to improve work relationships.
- Support line managers in the implementation of the performance management systems.
- Enable line managers to deal with poor performance in an effective manner in terms of Africa-One Consulting policy and in line with the South African labour law.

**G. **Management information and reporting**
- Provide customized management information reports
- provide feedback on poor data quality to the function responsible for data quality.
- Analyse and interpret HR data and provide input to HR reports (eg. EE plan, WSP)

**H. **HR Projects**
- Assist with development and implementation of HR projects
- Assist in scoping project plans related to identified interventions

**Qaulifications Required**
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a Human Resources related field or equivalent number of years of experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience with progressive HR practices.
- Registration with a nationally and or international recognized HR Practitioners body or organization.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
- Ability to actively listen, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Proven ability to “read people” and exercise effective judgment with related issues and challenges.
- Demonstrated experience motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
- Incredibly strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: R5,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
