Workshop Manager

**Role**:
We are looking for a Workshop Manager in Paarden Eiland who will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the workshop and ensure that all the jobs handled are completed on time, within the cost allocated, complies with the quality while maintaining a safe working environment. You will also be responsible for managing current contracts / clients, and drive revenues of the workshop by finding new clients / business to ensure profitability of the business. This position will report directly to the CEO.

Overall responsibilities should include, but not limited to:

- **Management**: Effectively manage staff, technicians and staffing requirements to achieve the goals and profitability of the business. Ensure accurate planning in respect of resources required and allocation of same in order to ensure the achievement of budgets.
- **Budget**: Manage Budgets and Profit and Loss. Management of the administration including Wages and Finance. Report at management meetings.
- **Workshop**: Take full responsibility of the day to day operations of the workshop. To generate business for the workshop services, by direct interactions with new clients for new business and existing clients for repeat business. To ensure that the activities of the workshop are well coordinated in order to complete the jobs received within the allocated time frame, quality parameters, class requirements and budgeted cost.
- **Stakeholder management**: Develop working relationships with key stakeholders and deliver exceptional customer service to clients. Provide services to the client in a timely, professional and pleasant manner.
- **Quality, Health & Safety**: Ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental requirements. Have daily shopfloor meetings.
- **Reporting**: Attending management meetings and reporting on a monthly basis.
- Perform irregular, one time and special request tasks related to the company as a whole.

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification or diploma in Engineering / Project Management
- Trade qualification in marine diesel mechanic

**Technical Skills or Knowledge Required**
- At least 5 to 8 years’ in repairing diesel engines and other mechanic function on marine and fishing vessels.
- At least 3 years in a managerial position in a relevant environment.
- Yacht or boat mechanics experience is a plus.
