The Business Intelligence (BI) Manager is responsible for implementation of the BI strategy and leads the strategic design and maintenance of BI solutions including the technical initiatives. Supports IT digital transformation capabilities by facilitating the formation and implementation of digital strategy, while delivering innovative, accurate and on time solutions. Ensures that the use of BI solutions enhances real-time business decision making. Overseeing the translation of business needs to technical specifications and deploying BI solutions, reporting tools and ensure that the data analytics platforms are developed and maintained. Create visualizations for business and develop or update technical information where necessary. Leads a team of BI Developer and Data Analyst.

**Formal Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Data Science or Statistics or related field

**Certifications**:

- Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or Microsoft Business Intelligence Certificate or any certification related to Business Intelligence/data management and analytics.

**Years of Experience**:

- 5 - 7 years of experience in delivering BI solutions and experience using data to drive business decisions
- 5 years’ experience as a BI Manager and proven experience in people management.

**Added advantage**:

- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate.
- 5 years’ experience in delivering Data Management related projects.
- Advanced programming languages.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- BI Reporting
- Data Management and Analytics
- Statistics, translation, economics and database management
- Enterprise Data Warehouse design and implementation
- Thorough understanding of Database Management Systems, Online Analytical Process (OLAP) and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Framework, SQL queries and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- BI technologies (for example, Microsoft Power BI and Oracle BI).
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in support of the BI Strategy Roadmap.
- Competent in cloud computing and data storage technology, including Microsoft Azure fundamentals.
- Technical fluence in data visualization.
- Advanced analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes.
- A willingness to take initiative and show innovation.
- Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment.
- Understanding of Data security and privacy.
- Ability to deliver through projects and work pro-actively, under pressure independently and with mínimal direction/supervision.
- Excellent stakeholder management by being tactful, diplomatic and empathetic - excellent communication skills - written and oral.

**KEY TASKS (The what, why and how of the job)**:
**Governance**
- Implement the BI Governance Framework.
- Implement and oversee BI and Data Policies, Processes and Procedures for data management.
- Oversee data governance and architecture.
- Implement data quality standards to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Implement data classification and security to meet NIST requirements.
- Define Data Stewards Committee role, responsibilities, setting milestones and timelines.
- Participate in organizational governance structures.
- Monitor changes in legislation and ensure compliance.

**Strategy**:

- Implement the BI and Data strategy roadmap.
- Regular monitoring and reporting - BI and Data roadmap
- Perform analysis as required to support TASISO strategies.
- Plan all business and technical aspects of different data and analytics systems and platforms requirements.

**BI and Data Management**:

- Implement Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) - data modelling, data planning, data definitions, data mining and metadata.
- Overseeing data warehouse, including the collection and utilisation of all data
- Develop and maintain business data architecture by designing, developing, and modifying data management infrastructure to expedite data analysis and reporting.
- Develop and implement Data profiling and data quality measurement to provide insight into the quality of data and help to identify data quality issues
- Create business ability to capture, trace, manage and maintain data in terms of accessibility and retrievability.
