Assistant Venue and Accommodation Manager

An upmarket wine farm located outside Stellenbosch is looking for an assistant venue and accommodation manager to assist in all aspects of the day to day running of the business.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in both weddings, events and experience at a guest house.

**Responsibilities include**:

- To be fully hands-on in the day to day running of the establishment

**Venue responsibilities**
**- Assist venue manager as required
- See to staff duties as prescribed by venue manager
- Oversea setup and breakdown of events
- Manage events and the services thereof (staff/bar/food etc.)
- Site inspections
- See to stock takes and cash-up of bar
- Open and closing of venue (week
- day and at events)

**Guesthouse responsibilities**
- Undertake FOH duties
- Liaise with travel agencies, bookings sites, accommodation website
- Maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and be responsible for swift handling of guest queries/complaints
- Provide administrative and logistics support
- Be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing
- Ensuring guest rooms are maintained at the highest level
- Management of Housekeeping
- Checking, reporting and overseeing of maintenance issues
- Responsibility to maintain and manage inventory
- Staff management of guest house, organize and supervise shifts
- Dealing with sales inquiries and reservations when required

**Requirements**:

- Computer Literate - MS Excel, MS Word, knowledge of booking systems, and POS
- Fluent in English & Afrikaans -written and verbal
- Aged between 22-35 years
- Well-presented and excellent communication skills
- Accurate and customer orientated
- Passion for service excellence & the hospitality industry essential
- Hospitality qualification
- Must have 1-3 years experience in function sector of the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
- Acute financial management skills
- Strong administrative skills
- Good organizational skills
- Creative mindset
- Team Player
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Own transport, valid driver license
- Must be willing to work long hours, public holidays and weekends as required by the industry

**Salary**: R14,000.00 - R16,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Stellenbosch, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- hospitality: 3 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)
- Afrikaans (preferred)

License/Certification:

- Drivers license and car (required)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)
