**Job Advert Summary**:
Optimise the use of macro space, category adjacencies and customer flow in order to deliver the customer value proposition and maximizing space using sales and profit density measurements.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Macro Space**

Implement the macro space matrix to optimise adjacencies across divisions, business units and categories.

Align and set thresholds for categories to “buy” space by considering visual premium and seasonality effects.

**Optimise Sales and Profitability**

Optimise the like-for-like (LFL) performance for sales and profit return to ensure floor space is optimised.

Analyse the category role and intent in order to drive the category performance effectively.

Benchmark stores against competitor stores and match the intent optimally.

**Customer Journey**

Help define category and customer flow for formats, types of stores based on analysis and other available information.

**Collaborated Network**

Influence assortment, visual premium and optimise SKU density in conjunction with the Category Buyer and Space Planner.

Assist in developing guidelines for micro planoguides, micro adjacencies and optimising the trading space in stores with the Property department.

Draw on the Marketing and Customer Insights team regarding the format definition, customer value proposition, key metrics for benchmarking and monitor customer feedback to ensure space optimisation.

Measure and increase compliance of space guidelines across all stores with collaboration with Store Operations and the Merchandise Buying and Strategy teams.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Relevant Commercial Degree (Preferably a Mathematics or Statistics degree)

3 - 5 years statistical modelling experience

2 - 3 years retail experience
