**VEHICLE TRACKING TECHNICIAN**

GENERAL:
A Vehicle Tracking Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of vehicle tracking systems in various types of vehicles. The responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and removing vehicle tracking devices and fuel probes. This will also be responsible for conducting thorough testing, providing technical support, and maintaining detailed records.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The scope of responsibilities of the Vehicle Tracking Technician is, as follows:

- Install vehicle tracking systems, ensuring precise placement and secure mounting.
- Configure and calibrate tracking devices according to technical specifications.
- Conduct thorough testing to verify the accuracy and functionality of installed systems.
- Perform routine maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems with tracking devices.
- Repair or replace faulty components to ensure continuous operation.
- Manage and maintain allocated resources, including tools, stock, and testing equipment.
- Ensure proper documentation and organisation of resources.
- Complete Job Cards accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of tracking units after fitment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Provide technical support and assistance to clients and end-users.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and supervisors.

- Excellent administrative skills, including the completion of Job Cards
- Sober habits
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently, self-managed with limited supervision.

HARD SKILLS-BACKGROUND / TECHNICAL COMPETENCE:

- Relevant qualification
- Experience in tracking device installation is required
- Sound technical, fault-finding, and analytical skills related to electrical/electronic components of vehicles/trucks.
- Computer literacy
- Ability to install, maintain, and remove vehicle units/fuel probes following technical procedures.
- Management and maintenance of allocated resources, including tools, stock, testing equipment, etc.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and clear criminal record.
- Testing units after fitment

WORKING HOURS:

- 07h30 - 16h30 (Mondays to Friday’s)
- Weekends
- on ad-hoc basis

Pay: R18,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
