Branch Operations Manager for Signage & Design Company based in Randburg

**Purpose of this position**: Manage all Operational Requirements of the Johannesburg Branch and Production Facility

Direct Reporting Executive/Manager

**Primary**: Chief Operations Officer - All Operational Functions

**Secondary**: Executive Head of Sales - Branch Oversite and Service Delivery

**Duties Role Summary**:
Manage and Ensure the Operational success and conformity of the Operations of the Johannesburg Branch (including facilities of the Bloemfontein Sales Office)
Oversee the Management of the following Branch Operational Functions:
i) Manufacturing across various disciplines
ii) Warehousing and Dispatch
iii) Procurement (Outsourced manufacture and Standard parts)
iv) Debtors and Daily Administration
v) Facility Management (Buildings, Sites and Health and Safety)
3. Manage and Ensure Operational Team have a high level of productivity and morale.
4. Maintain and improve overall operational performance of the branch in line with the requirement the Company as well as the satisfaction of its customers, in a rapid paced retail supply environment.
5. Coordinate the supply of orders from the various supply chains, including Production (both in house and interbranch), National Warehousing (IBT), Import, Procurement and Outsourced Manufacture.

**Operational Duties**:
**i) Manufacturing**:
1. Have an intermate understanding of the manufacture processes (including, but not limited to Large format Digital Print, CNC and pneumatic cutting, plastic fabrication, 12V-24V Electrical assemblies, wood and steel assemblies, ultrasonic welding).
2. Grow in in depth knowledge and understanding of The Company Paradigm system and offer further advancements in Production information availability becoming a “Super User”.
3. Ensure all Equipment is being managed, maintained and serviced as required through Production Management Team.
4. sure all Health and Safety Protocols are instilled, and requirements met in line with South African law, as well as SMETA and ISO Manufacture standards, running an injury free site.
5. Ensure Production Management Team’s creation and achievement production targets and quotas across all production departments.
6 Enhance and enforce Operational Procedure systems and controls, including, but not limited to workflow, equipment layout and operator skills. Implement changes as agreed.
7. Guide and Oversee Production Management Team in the development the staffing structure, responsibilities and reporting of the manufacture departments.
8. Ensure Production planning is in line with operational demand, quality and customer satisfaction targets to the best possible standard.
9. Contribute, when required, on problem solving in the production department.

ii)Warehousing and Dispatch
1. Develop an in depth understanding of The Company’s product offering, both on base load catalogue products as well as bespoke manufacture.
2. Ensure correct forecasting of Buffer stock requirement in both finished goods and production raw materials, in line with available budgets set by COO.
3. Ensure stock rotation procedures are in place (FIFO).
4. Ensure slow moving stock is used to fulfil orders as an alternate if suitable.
5. Ensure all vehicles are being maintained aesthetically and mechanically, to a high standard of care. Ensuring availability at peak requirement times of the monthly demand cycle.
6. Ensure all route planning is done in the most efficient manner.
7. Ensure service delivery from Warehouse and Dispatch is in line with Service Level requirements from The Company’s clients.
8. Be the point of escalation from Sales Teams on Customer Service Requirements and lead times for the JHB Supply Chain.
9. Ensure correct processing of IBTs and stock movement.
10. Ensure correct processing of invoicing and delivery POD’s for debt collection.

iii) Procurement
1. Manage high level relationships with all suppliers, ensuring best pricing, products and service delivery levels.
2. Research, source and obtain new key suppliers as/if required.
3. Suggest raw material alternates on supply if required.
4. Forecasting with various suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply chain.
5. Ensure correct management of suppliers and monitoring of lead times.
6. Review supplier invoicing ensuring conformance on pricing and discounts when applicable.
7. Ensure correct process of GRVs.

iv) Debtors and Daily Administration
1. Direct reporting of the on-site invoicing and debtors function in JHB
2. Close coordination of Debtors with Head of Debtors in Cape Town.
3. Ensure debtors team is maintaining financial controls for invoicing to ensure payment from clients
4. Provide project/manufacturing budget audits as required to ensure overall profitability and costings remain accurate.

v) Facility Management
1. Manage staff levels, wages, hours and contract labour in line with budget targets.
