**The role of the Human Resources Department** is to support the University’s People Strategy which presents challenging people deliverables in relation to change and transformation projects and strategies. Transformational leadership is required from all at the University, and the role of HR is both to enable and facilitate processes for continuous improvement.

**Reporting to the Director: Rewards, Benefits & Payroll, the Specialist: HR Analytics’ main purpose is**:

- Managing and maintaining the HR Information System
- Maintaining and reviewing data integrity in HR systems;
- Ensure an integrated HR systems environment for the continuous assessment and evaluation of policy, process and technology delivery for the HR Department;
- To provide business intelligence in the areas of people metrics, reporting, and advanced analytics;
- Developing HR reporting service and tools, executing the detailed analysis of large HR data sets and Management Information and communicating the results across the University for use in driving business decisions.

**Minimum Requirements**

**We seek a Specialist: HR Analytics equipped with the following qualifications and attributes**:

- A relevant Honours degree or equivalent Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) with major modules in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science);
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar position;
- Advanced skills of MS Excel and Google Sheets;
- Proven hands on experience in developing data visualisations/ dashboards with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, etc.;
- Proven experience working on a large ERP or HCM system in a medium to large organisation;
- Ability to work with large datasets and an understanding of data analysis;
- Strong Business Process Management experience and understanding of business analysis methodologies;
- Proven experience in mapping / documenting business processes and vision documents that clearly set business users expectations using mapping tools (Mind Manager);
- Understanding relational database structure & design;

**The following would be advantageous**:

- Majority of experience in people data and analytics
- Relevant HR data analytics experience in the higher education sector
- Advanced Excel skills such as VBA, macros, automation, power pivot, power query, interaction with SQL and programmability will be a distinct advantage.-
