TERM 2 2023

Applications are invited for a part-time senior school laboratory assistant.
Commencement date: Term 2 2023
- A relevant and/or recognised degree or formal qualification.
- Previous experience as a Lab Technician in a school or educational environment.
- Proficiency in the use of G-suite for education.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and proper chemical handling, use, storage, and
disposal.
- A first aid qualification (if not, training will be provided).
- The ability to take ownership of the successful running of the laboratory environment.
- A willingness to be a team player, as well as the ability to cope under pressure and be
able to adapt to sudden changes.
- Capacity and commitment to actively support, model and promote the distinctively
Catholic ethos and character of the school.

**Areas of responsibility will include**:

- Preparing, setting up and packing away practical equipment.
- Keeping an inventory of chemicals and equipment.
- Ordering of stock, via the school’s requisition procedure.
- Assisting during class practical sessions, if requested by the teacher, especially when
the class sizes are big.
