Crane Operator

**Minimum Requirements**
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 2-3 years’ relevant experience
- Certificate to Operate a Radio/Pendant Controlled Overhead Crane (10 ton)
- Certificate to Operate a Counter-balanced Lift Truck (3 ton)
- Technical understanding
- Able to work shifts
- Own transport is essential
- Available immediately

**Key Responsibilities**
- The Bedloader is responsible to print a schedule at the beginning of the shift and to enquire about plates that were taken out during the previous shift and that still need to be taken out.
- The Bedloader needs to work according to the schedule and be prepared to make changes as requested by the Operator or Supervisor.
- The Bedloader has to ensure that plates are picked up and not pulled over the bed when it is loaded.
- The Bedloader must inform the Operator of any problems with the loading of certain plates i.e. location of plates, wrong sizes, scratches, etc.
- If plates are not placed in the correct racks, the Bedloader must report it to the Supervisor and ensure that the plates are placed onto the correct racks.
- Once a plate comes in or after it has been cut, the ID must be written on the plate.
- In a case where a plate has to be placed in another rack, the Bedloader must write the location on the nesting, in order for the Nester to change the location of the plate.
- Before a plate is loaded, the thickness, material and the ID must be checked to ensure it is correct.
- If the plate size differs, the plate must be drawn up with sizes and given to the Nester to be re-drawn.
- The Bedloader needs to assist the Sorter when the parts are too big to handle, and crane assistance is needed.
- The Bedloader must ensure that the allocated area is kept clean at all times.

Pay: From R10 000,00 per month
