Bookkeeper

A well-established human resources consultancy has an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper who will be responsible for providing essential administrative and accounting support to the Finance team. This role encompasses a wide range of financial functions, including maintaining journals, reconciling accounts, managing cash books and assisting with statutory returns such as PAYE and VAT. This is a full-time, in-office, permanent position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain cash books and reconcile bank statements
- Full financial function to Balance Sheet
- Complete daily accounting tasks, such as recording expenses & tracking receivables
- Assist with the preparation of statutory returns (PAYE/VAT)
- Assist Financial Manager with all other accounting procedures

RequirementsQualifications:

- Matric or equivalent
- Certificate in bookkeeping
- 5-6 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Experience with accounting software, such as Pastel and Sage Payroll
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Own transport is essential
