Data Analyst

**Purpose of the Job**

As part of the Engineering team, this role is responsible for using their knowledge of data processing software and business development strategies to provide sound business decisions to the organisation. The duties include collaborating with other teams to extract data figures, creating reports based on their findings, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives’ success.

**Network & Links**:
Internal: Rolling Stock, Wayside, Product Safety, EHS & Quality

External: Customer, Suppliers

**Mission**

**Objective**:

- Obtain a high level of data analysis outcomes
- Obtain a thorough knowledge of data from Rolling Stock, Wayside, Product Safety, Supply Chain, EHS & Quality

**Measurement**:

- Accuracy of analysis reports
- On time delivery of analysis
- Objective review
- Execution of projects

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with Rolling Stock, Wayside, Product Safety, Supply Chain, EHS & Quality teams and others to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create reports for internal teams and/or external users
- Collaborate with team members to collect and analyse data
- Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data
- Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of technical decisions
- Structure large data sets to find usable information
- Work with technical teams and others to process information
- Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings

**Educational Requirements**

A bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or information systems or equivalent B. Tech

**Technical Knowledge / Experience**
- Previous experience with data analysis duties
- Knowledge of the railway and ideally of the maintenance environment
- Strong analysis skills
