An exciting opportunity exists to lead a Quality Assurance team to ensure both a high quality platform and a high performance environment for a Healthcare IT company in Johannesburg.

**Responsibilities and Tasks**:

- Contribute to broading the organisations Healthcare Platform, which currently provides an integrated administration and clinical solution for medical practices, to become a platform that enables multiple healthcare stakeholders to collaborate;
- Define and execute a QA / testing approach that will achieve significantly shorter release cycles, better scaling of testing capacity with the existing resources and in-line with the micro service architecture;
- Help to define the test automation process and plans, tools slection and implementation, leveraging technologies such as Azure DevOps, Selenium and Cypress;
- Perform hands-on quality assurance activities including QA analysis and testing as well as functional and automation testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions;
- Perform functional and non-functional testing, including regression testing and User Acceptance Testing to identify and report defects or issues in a timely manner;
- Take ownership of test coverage during releases and execute comprehensive functional and automation tests as well as User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with stakeholders before deployments;
- Continuously mentor and develop skills within the team through providing technical expertise and promoting best practices in testing methodologies and tools;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and senior managers, to understand requirements, provide testing estimates, and ensure alignment on quality objectives;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and measure quality metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions;
- Continuously evaluate and improve the QA processes, tools, and frameworks to optimise productivity and ensure high-quality deliverables;
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in QA methodologies and tools, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the overall testing capabilities of the team.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is highly advantageous;
- Minimum 7+ years experience in the software development industry within a QA testing role as your main focus and using a wide variety of technology sets (Web, mobile, desktop, API’s, data, etc.);
- Proven experience 2+ as a QA Lead or in a similar leadership role by leading and mentoring a small testing team;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare is highly advantageous;
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester, etc.) is advantageous;
- Understanding of modern SDLC approaches (e.g. Agile with Kanban or Scrum, RUP, etc.);
- Functional testing (analysis, design and execution);
- Non-functional testing such as: Load testing, Performance testing, Test and regression automation, Security Testing, Continuous integration;
- Experience with test management tools such as Azure Test Plans, TestRail or similar testing tools;
- Good development and / or scripting skills in common languages or automation scripting (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python, YAML, etc.);
- Database skills for relational and noSQL databases is an advantage;
- Understanding of Angular or Javascript/Typescript is beneficial, but not required;
- Strong expertise in developing QA approaches, test plans, test cases, and executing functional and non-functional tests;
- Proficiency in test automation using Azure DevOps, Selenium, Cypress or similar tools;
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and QA best practices;
- Experience with regression testing and the ability to design and maintain comprehensive regression test suites;
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools for test management and defect tracking is beneficial;
- Experience with test management tools such as Azure Test Plans, TestRail or similar testing tools;
- Good understanding of version control systems, continuous integration, and continuous deployment processes;
- Strong organisational, time management skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
