Inbound Supply Chain Facilitator

Use your experience in supply chain and knowledge of goods imports to effectively oversee the day-to-day activities associated with the supply chain function for inbound goods. The incumbent will work closely with the Demand Planner.

General overview of responsibilities:

- Ensure all goods are received at the relevant warehouse
- Liaise with forwarding agents on documentation, pricing, tariff coding, queries, delays, special clearing instructions and delivery requirements
- Ensure compliance at all times with all importing statutory regulations.
- Continually evaluate levels of service, rates and best routes to ensure that the company is always optimising delivery
- Provide constant updates to inform all relevant internal staff on the status of all incoming orders and co-ordinate and communicate all deliveries with warehousing
- Coordinate and check the calculation of all average landed costs per order
- Ensure invoiced prices are consistent with agreed transfer prices / purchase orders
- Assist with obtaining import permits as and when required
- Maintain the import register
- Assist accounts with payments where necessary
- Provide backup to the demand planner
- Obtain and grow product knowledge as well as understanding and adherence to company processes and IT systems.

**Requirements**:

- Matric
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of procurement or supply chain
- Solid understanding of import/export
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent communication skills and able to maintain good relations with all stakeholders
- Able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive approach, sense of urgency and positive attitude.
