**Cybersecurity Specialist Job Description**

**Job Purpose**

The role focuses on supporting the Cyber Risk Consulting (CRC) practice in the Marsh Advisory (MA) division of Marsh Africa. The role will entail helping clients identify, measure and manage cyber risks and delivering on successful projects.
-**:

- Support the CRC practice leader in engaging with clients, identifying solutions and preparing of proposals.
- Provide trusted advisory services and guidance to clients that will reduce cyber risk and improve their overall security posture.
- Deliver on client projects which include:

- Cyber governance and strategy
- Develop information technology and security policies and procedures
- Cyber risk assessments
- Cyber maturity assessments/ Audits
- ISMS gap assessments
- Cyber awareness programs
- Cyber risk quantification
- Third party risk assessments
- Prepare reports and other deliverables that contain strategy, technical analysis, and findings in connection with advisory and assessment engagements and communicating those results to client management
- Assist clients define technical and business requirements for data protection solutions as well as develop business processes and policies related to controlling access to data
- Collaborate across the Marsh Advisory and Marsh broker community and provide expert input and contributions where necessary.

**Desired Skills and Experience**
- 5 plus years professional cyber experience
- At least 5+ years of experience in cyber governance, risk, controls, and compliance management in a technology environment.
- At least a B. Degree, preferably in Computer Science related degrees, Commerce or Engineering related degrees.
- Professional security certifications (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CBCP) would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments, data classification, privacy assessments, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, IT architectures and governance
- Knowledge and understanding of security standards and frameworks (ISO27001, NIST etc), regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting clients related to privacy and data protection.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and privacy requirements, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Protection and Payment Card Industry (PCI)/Data Security Standard.
- Knowledge and understanding of current business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies (advantageous)
- Experience in delivering cyber security projects with a deep understanding of Tech Security risks and mitigating solutions.
- Diverse security background with knowledge in several areas including layered security architecture; internet protocols; firewalls; VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, network access control and network segmentation, anti-malware and spam technologies; risk and vulnerability assessments, and compliance.
- Security concepts related to DNS, routing, authentication, VPN, proxy services, and DDOS mitigation technologies.
- Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems.
- Web Security & Encryption.
- Strong analytical problem solving skills and experience, ideally gained in the management consulting sector although other sectors could be relevant
- Experience in delivering projects from inception to completion with high quality of delivery in a complex and challenging environment
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex client business processes, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, team-focus, dedication, resourcefulness, and an eagerness to learn
- The ability to work on multiple projects in parallel over a period of time
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, (i.e. Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate technical matters to a non-technical audience.

- Creates presentations/slides and other communications of high complexity and extracts and summarizes key insights for presentations/communications that drive internal and client meetings
- Drives client and internal meetings to drive client projects
- Develops pricing for projects, supports the development of proposals and reviews technical concept working with consulting management to improve efficiency
- Advises clients in developing and adjusting project approaches, methodology, and tools to support risk programs and initiatives.
