**Scientist: Research Psychologist**

**(Permanent Position)**

This post exists to support the mental health research activities in MAST RU through assisting with data collection and data analysis. These tasks are essential for MAST RU to meet its primary objective (i.e. to conduct and facilitate high quality scientific research to inform policy, healthcare services, and interventions which promote mental health and/or reduce harmful effects of substance use).

**Responsibilities**:

- Input into protocol development as needed and drafting SOPs
- Data collection and data entry tasks
- Responsible for administrative tasks as needed
- Data quality and assurance
- Report in project meetings (report on literature review/methods/designs/data analysis).
- Writing of reports and data management tasks

**Core Requirements**:

- Master’s or higher Degree in Psychology or related field.
- Minimum 6 months working in a mental health or related research environment.
- Registration as a Research Psychologist with the HPCSA or the ability to register if not currently registered.

**Advantageous**
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Preparing and formatting manuscripts for scientific publication.

A salary in the region of **R 534 050 per annum**, cost-to-company, will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications and will be at the level of Scientist (seasoned).
