Introduction

Role Purpose

Support the investment and research process using quantitative research methodologies and tools to analyse investment portfolios and financial instruments based on the outcomes and requirements of the mandate and business requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Mathematics, Statistics or Actuary related degree.
- Finance related post grad certification/ qualification.
- 5+ year quant research analysis experience
- Stakeholder management, analytical, influencing skills.
- Data analytics experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
**Provide investment research and analysis to support the investment process **(Internal Process)**:

- Build mathematical and statistical models to support business decision making and determine the impact of investment decisions on business
- Identify risk drivers, attributing the return on those drivers, to manage risk to get the highest return given the level of risk
- Identify, understand, quantify and measure the risk associated with the portfolios, asset classes, and markets as it relates to solutions to support investment process.
- Using quantitative research to assist with idea generation.
- Drive quantitative research projects as part of the Research Hub
- Enhance quantitative process through machine learning and AI techniques
- Understand short
- and long-term market factors compared with historical evaluations relative to a market index.
- Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analysing trends and data
- Analyse global economics, including both international and national economic indicators, market activity, determining the value of a wide range asset classes, investment trades in a wide range of financial instruments quantitative analysis and strategies to support decision making.
- Using quantitative research, monitor and record key industry trends that can impact on the current and future product offering.
- Using ongoing quantitative research make recommendations regarding the appropriate improvements on solutions to ensure market dynamics are considered and effectively applied.
- Create awareness of the OBI philosophy across MMH in order to foster greater understanding and buy-in to the philosophy.
- Ensure that the portfolio management and risk management processes are applied.
- Foster effective working relationships and collaborate within Momentum Investments, segments and external stakeholders. Monitor, back test, measure, attribute and report on the performance of solutions to ensure the product is managed relative to the outcome defined.
- Assist with the analysis and explanation of performance variances.
- Identify and develop independent research techniques to enhance research output.

- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to identify changing client needs and make recommendations to align service offering with client needs.
- Manage a client service excellence culture which builds enduring relationships and allows team to provide exceptional client service.
- Deliver on agreed deliverables made with clients and stakeholders in order to ensure that client expectations are managed
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

- Provide input into the risk identification processes and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum.
