**Purpose of the role**:
The Organisation's mission and legal parameters is to actively contribute to the definition and direction of the overall data management strategy.
- Ultimate accountability and responsibility:_
- Drive and deliver the agreed data management strategy.
- Design, development and implementation of data specifications and supporting IT solutions
required to deliver the data strategy.
- Accountable for the data related elements and provide analytical support, guidance and
reporting.

**High-level description of role**:

- Provide inputs into strategy formulation in line with Strategic Framework specifically for data and technology to deliver the necessary support.
- Compile an operational plan and identify key milestones and outputs; complete data and IT related content and supporting documents to deliver on the overall data strategy.
- Consult and liaise with all industry stakeholders (incl. suppliers) and internal staff to obtain inputs to inform data specifications.
- Define, design and maintain all relevant data specifications according to industry requirements and relevant legislation.
- Define, design, implement and maintain quality standards and Indicators as well as develop related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data quality assessment, submission, and management.
- Design, implement and maintain reporting standard requirements to measure data quality and submissions to data hosts and data host validation compliance according to agreed data quality standards.
- Gather tool development requirements, provide input into specifications and assist in the design, development and testing of the Tools.
- Develop a stratified plan and training approach including relevant tools for data contributors for new data specifications.
- Provide assistance and/or develop documentation for new enhanced concepts and practices to guide stakeholder decision making.
- Train, educate and upskill internal and external stakeholders within functional area of expertise.
- Monitor progress, compile and submit reports on performance according to agreed measurables to the relevant management structures.
- Ensure lessons learnt are disseminated throughout the Association as appropriate.
- Coordinate, arrange and attend data management meetings, including drafting the agenda and minute taking.
- Draft and/or review and finalise minutes, matters arising activity log before distribution.
- Adhere to document management processes to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented, secured and communicated as required.
- Assist with any other operational support required by the Executive Director and/or units.
- Identify changes to relevant legislation, industry standards, new innovations that can inform the execution of the organisation's mandate, data strategy and/or data specifications.
- Develop and implement relevant policies within functional area to ensure compliance.

**Qualifications**:
NQF Level 6 Diploma / Advance certificate**:Area **-Business/Data Analytics and
Management/Statistics/Financial-**Essential**

NQF Level 7 3 year degree / Advanced diploma**:Area -**BSc/BCom/Business/Data Analytics and Management/Statistics/ Financials
