**Company description**: A well-established International Trading Company operating in the Energy sector and supplying equipment to Contractors and Power Utilities in Africa. The company has offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Africa and is currently establishing a manufacturing plant in Zambia.

This role is for the South African office based in Fourways, Johannesburg.

**Location**: Full-time, In-office, Fourways

**Salary**: R30-35k / month

**AA/EE requirements**: None

Our client is looking for someone with extensive experience in sea and road transport. Complex logístical problem-solving experience and understanding of import-export documentation is essential.

**Non-Negotiable requirements**:

- **Min 5 Years’ experience moving goods cross border via ROAD into Africa is essential (current main markets are Angola, Zambia, Mozambique and Rwanda).**:

- Understanding of road freight management (Truck configurations, truck types) as well as monitoring systems and coordination with the drivers.
- Understanding of seafreight, airfreight and railway and related documentation.
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure cargo is collected as soon as it is ready.
- Generating and preparing import and export documentation.
- Relevant diploma in logistics MIN. Degree highly preferred.
- Proven problem-solving experience and skills.

**Essential Experience required for consideration**
- End-to-end logístical arrangements of containerized and breakbulk cargo.
- Experience and knowledge of cross border movement (Export and Import), customs and excise processes, along with export documentation (Certificates of Origin; SADC certificate; SAD 500; Import permits etc) is essential.
- Dealing with transporters, authorities, customers, suppliers, service providers, and storage facilities
- Fleet operations including vehicle maintenance, overseeing fuel consumption and fuel costs, driver management and route planning

**Duties involved**:

- Logistical problem solving
- Communicating and building relationships with customers, transporters, suppliers, service providers, shipping agents and storage facilities
- Negotiating and finding best possible rates with logistic partners and carriers.
- Controlling logistics and movement of electrical equipment from origination through to delivery
- Keeping clients updated on contract movements.
- Identifying country specific documentation per export / import (permits / other paperwork)
- Booking and tracking of road trucks from and to clients.
- Ensuring all stock is reconciled on a regular basis and any discrepancies in stock volume is identified in a timely manner and corrective action taken
- On time raising of invoices.
- Responsible for assisting on all documentation and processes of the trade including customs and export and import requirements.
